Water System Improvement Program

In 2002, SFPUC launched the $4.6 billion WSIP to repair, replace, and seismically upgrade the system's deteriorating pipelines, tunnels, reservoirs, pump stations, storage tanks, and dams. The program includes more than 80 projects from San Francisco to the Central Valley, to be completed by the end of 2015.

WSIP is one of the largest water infrastructure programs in the nation and the largest ever undertaken by SF.
